Hi! I’m Stina and welcome to Simplify and Shine! I’m so pleased you’re here.

I am a certified life coach specialising in helping individuals overcome burnout and create a more simplified and fulfilling life.

In my day job, I am a learning and development coordinator, and I enjoy organising and coordinating various training offers at my workplace.

Before moving to the UK, I worked as a Preschool Teacher in Iceland. While I loved my job and found it rewarding, the profession’s demands took a toll on me. I struggled to juggle my career, family life, university, and numerous other commitments. The stress and pressure of it all eventually led me to experience burnout.

I knew something needed to change, and that’s when I discovered the power of decluttering and simplifying my life. I began to examine the things taking up my time and energy and gradually let go of the ones that no longer served me. I simplified my schedule, my belongings, and my priorities. As a result, I found a newfound sense of peace and purpose.

Inspired by my transformation, I became certified as a life coach to help others experiencing similar struggles. I now work with clients to help them identify the root causes of their burnout and develop strategies to simplify their lives and find more balance and fulfilment.

My approach to coaching is rooted in empathy and understanding. I know firsthand the toll burnout can take on a person, and I am committed to helping my clients navigate this difficult time. Through our work together, I strive to help my clients gain clarity and direction and ultimately create an authentic, joyful, and fulfilling life.

Decluttering and simplifying

Reflecting on my past, it seems like life had taken hold of me without my knowledge. My time was consumed with balancing the responsibilities of raising a young family, maintaining a household, and studying full-time while fulfilling my job obligations. I was constantly striving to accomplish tasks. And trying to do a perfect job!

Yet, despite my efforts to be everything and do everything, I lacked room for anything else.

I felt stuck. My home was meant to be my shelter, my place of security and comfort, but filled with clutter and chaos.

By embracing the idea of decluttering my living space, simplifying my lifestyle, and prioritising what truly matters, I was able to break free from feeling stuck. Although I still have ongoing financial responsibilities, work obligations, family commitments, and tasks to complete, I have achieved a healthier sense of equilibrium. This equilibrium allows me to flexibly shift my focus towards whatever is most important at any given moment. In essence, it is a balanced life attained through the principles of simplicity, which is by no means perfect but unquestionably more manageable.

Less stuff, more life

As I began implementing a more simplified approach to daily living, I noticed that I had more time to invest in the things that held greater significance. With less focus on managing my possessions, household tasks, and to-do lists, I was no longer constantly pulled in various directions. As a result, I could prioritise and devote more energy towards what truly mattered to me.

By adopting a minimalist lifestyle, I discovered that by reducing my material possessions and simplifying my daily routine, I had more time and energy to devote to my family, children, and, most importantly, self-care.

This shift in priorities showed that my relationships and personal growth were far more valuable than owning an excess of clothes, attending social events, or obsessively curating a perfectly decorated home. Most importantly, it gave me more time for self-care!
